It's been a long time since I had a blog, but since I've redesigned my website, I also want to get into the habit of posting book and movie reviews here as well. I don't know how often I'll post, but I hope you'll join me in this (renewed) venture! My hope is also to start hosting interviews again one day, as well as share little snippets of current works-in-progress, music playlists, and future projects.
And for those of you who don't know me, hi! I'm Beka, and I write folkloric fantasy full of mythical creatures, tangled emotions, and fairy tale vibes. I love to twist the tales we think we know and offer them up in a brand new way, whether turning the fairy godmother of the Cinderella story into a morally grey anti-heroine (see my short story The Other Cinderella) or exploring the Rapunzel tale through the lense of intergenerational trauma and addiction (see "A Taste of Grace", published in Unexpected Encounters of a Draconic Kind and Other Stories).
